Just because the song uses the word needles dose not mean the song is talking about drugs. I was just at the doctors and got a shot with a needle, I never got high. I can see how you may think the song is about drugs, but that is not evidence to prove it is.

When responding to people's comments:

Make the counter argument first -- make the entire argument and make it sound like you believe it, and then rationally debunk it.

When you write things like "It is easy to pick a topic and try to find parts of a song that make sense with that topic, then say that the song must be about that topic." you come across as angry and defensive. Nothing written here is a direct attack on you. In order to sound authoritative you need to detach the emotion from your argument -- not the personal experience, or the personal thoughts, but the emotion.

Also, by addressing the reader as 'you' (i.e. "I want to remind you that the song is much broader that[sic] that"), this post has created a confrontational tone with the reader.

We've discussed "offending the reader" and I think many people assumed that meant attacks along the lines of racial slurs or personal affront on the reader's moral standards or sensibilities; however, this post makes me feel offended. When I (the audience) read this post, I feel the author was trying (purpose) to demean me through the tone and word choice ... which is ironic because I feel this way when I didn't even leave a comment!

Ok if anyone was offended I am sorry, that was certainly not my intention, neither was coming of as bossy. I am always open to people's interpretations, I was just trying to say to remember the song was very broad in its meanings, but In writing this I must have come off in the wrong way. I apologize and realize as always that my opinions on interpretations are no superior to anyone else's.
